As this was our last big shop before exams, we thought we'd pick up a few bits and pieces we knew we'd need for our prom in a couple of months time. As you've probably guessed we've already had a play around with most of these things and there are some good'uns in this mix!
Firstly, this may seem like an excessive amount of eyeshadows for one occasion but there is reasoning behind this... Promise. Firstly, last time we went shopping I intended to buy at least one of these Collection palettes, but the stock only came in the day after we went - typical. I also had enough points on my Boots card to pay for these and the L'Oreal (a beautiful warm chocolatey shimmer) but I am still yet to decide on my final eye look for 'the big day'.
As for the eyelashes, we obviously can't give you a verdict yet but we are super excited to try them out. Watch out for these to be featured in our prom-dedicated post on the 20th June.
So for the long evening out, we will want our lips to last and we saw TalkBeckyTalk talk about this (that was hard to read and write!) and when we realised it was stocked in Boots it went straight onto the list! Luckily the clever one out of us managed to spot it on the shelves in Boots and then it went straight into the basket. And aren't we glad it did... So far it's held up through Ben and Jerry's ice cream and Lily Pebbles brookies over a lipstick which didn't even last through a single Pringle before!
Although we'd already bought false lashes I couldn't resist this mascara as I'd been after it for a while and, once again, the 3 for 2 in Boots enticed me in. I have only tried this once so far but am already quite impressed. It gave my lashes extreme length and volume with a minimal amount of clumping. When I used UD's Mascara Resurrection to allow me to do another layer without my lashes looking like a clumped mess things got even bigger and better. Definitely one to add to your list if you're after a new mascara.
Finally. we have a very interesting find from the M&S Beauty section. Whilst we were browsing the high end make up and skincare brands we spotted out the reduced stand and saw this colour correcting powder from a brand we'd not seen before. There were two left on the shelf and they were reduced from £23 to just £4.99 - what a bargain! - so of course we bought one each even though we weren't entirely sure what they were. After a little research on the Internet we discovered that it corrects discolouring, brightens dull complexions, improves the staying power of products and, over time, smooths and firms the skin. We immediately tried out it out and love it! Also, it has a gorgeous, nostalgic smell that we can't quite describe but reminds us of a sweet shop. I'm afraid Bourjois' Healthy Balance powder will have to move over for this new multitasking wonder.
We also now have a twitter account so you can follow us @stylew_blog to keep up to date with posts and messages. If you don't have a twitter account don't worry because you can also follow us on Bloglovin' to never miss a post.
